Benjamin “BJ” Gailey

Co-Designer

BJ Gailey has been playing games his whole life, starting with classic card games and Scotland Yard with his family and graduating up to Risk and Magic: The Gathering in high school.

He played his first “hobby” game—Robo Rally, still a favorite—in college, and the rest is history. Favorite games include Mage Knight, Ghost Stories, War of the Ring, and Marvel Legendary.

When he isn’t designing games with longtime friend Brad, he is a faculty member in the Communication Department at the University of Illinois.

Brad Lawrence

Co-Designer

A lifelong nerd, Brad is still coming to grips with the fact that all his secret loves from 30 years ago are now pop culture mainstays.

He has always sought a way to merge storytelling and gaming. After cutting his teeth on the CCGs and RPGs of the early 90s, Brad’s work at Games Afoot is a continuation of those efforts.

Brad is a veteran GM of almost 30 years, and is always looking for players to help him find the intersection of mathematics, narrative, mechanics, character, and fun.

Brad holds an MFA in acting and works professionally as an actor, teacher, and editor. He lives in Chicago.
